A person who laced treats with tranquilliser and provided them to children at a summer camp in Leicestershire has pleaded guilty to sexual offences against two children both nine and 10.
The defendant was detained after eight youngsters and an older person experienced illness at the location in mid-summer.
The 76-year-old, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to a series of 17 offences when he was present at the judicial center on Friday.
Nevertheless, he refused to admit a single sexual charge he was charged with, which was against a nine-year-old boy.
The accused was kept in jail before a subsequent court date on late November.
'Treat game'
Mary Prior KC, handling the case, detailed the defendant's actions to the judicial body.
She said his victims were disadvantaged youngsters who were staying at a youth camp which he ran.
The man engaged in a "treat game" with the children, the legal counsel explained, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to eat sweets "as fast as possible".
She stated to the judge the defendant had conducted this practice with the young males "for many years", and children had earlier experienced illness the subsequent day.
She stated the defendant had been successful in rationalizing this repeatedly as the children being "overexcited from fun", until his family member had concerns in recently.
Mrs Prior KC stated further: "Recently" his stepchild had worries about the situation, justifiably.
"They resolved" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor explained items including infant oil, Vaseline and injection devices were located, and his stepchild notified the authorities about his worries.
She explained the man went on to engage in the "treat game" with six children that evening - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.
"The police had not arrived by that time," she added.
The oversight body, the investigative body, previously told that it was investigating the police response of the situation.
The prosecutor stated the minors were unable to walk properly due to their sickness, so the stepson notified the law enforcement a second time.
She stated the defendant then engaged in the "candy game" in a space of five children.
