I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
