Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, comprising in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
